Respiratory System Primary Cells
The respiratory system cells include respiratory epithelium and other types of cells supporting epithelial homeostasis and lung functions, such as respiratory endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and fibroblasts.
After the air enters the alveoli from the respiratory tract, the oxygen in the air enters the blood of the capillaries from the alveoli and is transported to the whole body through the circulatory system to provide oxygen for the whole body tissue cells. At the same time, carbon dioxide produced by tissue metabolism is also transported through blood circulation and discharged from the body through the respiratory system.
Cells from every tissue in the respiratory system play an important role for this main function, gas exchange, including lung cells, alveolar epithelial cells (type 1 pneumocytes and type 2 pneumocytes), bronchial epithelial cells, etc. AcceGen offers 41 different types of human respiratory system cells for primary cell culture and research.
