Description |
B9 is a mouse B cell hybridoma line derived from the fusion of BALB/c spleen cells with SP2/0-AG14 myeloma cells, resulting in a subclone of B13.29 (initially known as clone 9.9). These cells rely on Interleukin 6 (IL-6) for their survival and proliferation. Notably, the B9 cell line exhibits a dose-dependent response to lipopolysaccharide stimulation, which can potentially impact the accurate assessment of IL-6 activity in B9 assays. It is important to mention that B9 is a non-producer hybridoma and displays sensitivity to hybridoma growth factor (HGF). Activin A has the ability to induce cytotoxicity and DNA fragmentation in B9 cells, but this detrimental effect can be effectively suppressed by follistatin.
Why choose B9 from AcceGen? Choosing B9 from AcceGen is advantageous due to its high viability and quality. The cells are sterile and prepared under optimal and standard conditions, ensuring reliability. Additionally, advanced cryopreservation techniques are employed, guaranteeing safety during transport and storage of the cell line. |

Application | FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY The B9 cell line offers significant applications in the study of B cell biology and the role of Interleukin-6 (IL-6) in diverse cellular processes. It serves as a valuable model for investigating the complex aspects of B cell biology and facilitates the examination of IL-6’s regulatory role in inflammatory, autoimmune, and neoplastic diseases. The B9 hybridoma enables a straightforward and highly sensitive assay, known as the B9 bioassay, for assessing IL-6 activity in human, rat, rabbit, pig, and mouse samples. This versatile cell line contributes to our understanding of epidermal regulation during the pathogenesis of various diseases. |
