| Description | JIMT-1 is a breast cancer cell line established from a 62-year-old woman’s pleural effusion with ductal breast cancer in 2003. These cells carry an amplified HER-2 oncogene, making them insensitive to HER-2-inhibiting drugs. JIMT-1 cells lack estrogen and progesterone receptors and overexpress HER-2 mRNA and protein. JIMT-1 cells are of epithelial progenitor cell origin, confirmed by positive immunohistochemical staining for cytokeratins 5/14 and 8/18.
