Embryonic Stem (ES) Cells
Human ES Cells
Animal ES Cells
Embryonic Stem Cells are a type of cells isolated from early embryos or primitive gonads. They have the characteristics of infinite proliferation, self-renewal, and multi-directional differentiation. Whether in vitro or in vivo, ES cells can be induced to differentiate into almost all cell types in the body. Totipotency is the main difference between embryonic stem cells and adult pluripotent stem cells. Under normal culture conditions, embryonic stem cells remain totipotent after undergoing multiple cell divisions. The maintenance of the pluripotency of embryonic stem cells also needs to rely on the extracellular microenvironment to provide appropriate signals, otherwise, embryonic stem cells can easily differentiate into other types of cells.
AcceGen human Embryonic Stem Cells and animal Embryonic Stem Cells have good totipotency, they are well maintained in the undifferentiated transition.
