DNA profiling has revealed that the B95-8 cell line comes from Cotton-top Tamarin Monkey Peripheral Blood Lymphocytes. The cells have a predominantly suspension-like morphology, with ovular cells or small clumps, and around 10% of the cells are adherent. They can be cultured in RPMI1640 medium supplemented with 10% FBS, with cell detachment sometimes achieved using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA.
