Human Cardiac Fibroblasts-Fetal Atrial from AcceGen Research Laboratories are isolated from the human fetal atrium.
Human Cardiac Fibroblasts-Fetal Atrial (HCF-fa) are isolated from human fetal atrial tissue and cryopreserved at early passage. These fibroblasts display a typical spindle-shaped morphology and grow as an adherent monolayer in culture, and they provide essential structural support to cardiomyocytes and play a critical role in heart development and response to pathological conditions. These human fetal cardiac atrial fibroblasts are key producers of extracellular matrix (ECM) and serve as sources of paracrine growth factors. Their proliferation and ECM synthesis are fundamental to scar formation during myocardial infarction and cardiac fibrosis. These cells express fibronectin. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, syphilis, mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to preserve cell quality.

Human Cardiac Fibroblasts-Fetal Atrial (HCF-fa) are valuable for studying heart development, extracellular matrix production, and fetal cardiac responses to physiological and pathological stimuli. These cells play a critical role in scar formation, myocardial remodeling, and paracrine signaling during fetal heart growth. HCF-fa are also widely used in models of cardiac fibrosis and tissue engineering, particularly to explore fibrogenesis under prenatal or developmental conditions.
