Human Lung Cells, Uncultured are isolated from human lung tissue. They contain a variety of cell types, such as alveolar epithelial cells, bronchial epithelial cells and fibroblasts, depending on the tissue site from which they are isolated (e.g., alveoli, bronchial tubes, or interstitium). The passage number of these cells is typically within the first three passages to ensure primary characteristics are retained. These cells have diverse functions and participate in important physiological processes such as gas exchange, immune defense, and metabolism. They are associated with a variety of special diseases, such as pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis, in which Langerhans cells abnormally proliferate and infiltrate the lungs.

Human Lung Cells, Uncultured can be used for pharmacokinetic studies in drug screening and toxicology testing. They can also be used to study lung diseases, microbial infections, and respiratory inflammation. Furthermore, these cells can be applied to develop “lung-on-a-chip” models for respiratory diseases and applied to pharmacology research
