HEL-299 cell line is a human embryonic lung fibroblast model used extensively in virology and cellular biology studies for biomedical research.
Human embryo lung. Derived from embryonic lung tissue of a male in 1965. It is one of the few human diploid lines to have type A glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. Cells have a limited lifespan of 20 serial subcultures from tissue of origin.
