The endocrine system is another important functional regulation system besides the nervous system, which is mainly composed of endocrine organ and endocrine tissue. Endocrine organs include the thyroid gland, parathyroid gland, thymus gland, and adrenal gland; endocrine tissue includes islets of pancreas, etc. The endocrine system is involved in the regulation of metabolic balance by secreting some bioactive substances. When the secretion function and/or structure of endocrine gland or endocrine tissue are abnormal, it can lead to immune system diseases. Common diseases include thyroid disease, diabetes, gout and so on. AcceGen offers 29 different types of human primary cells associated with the endocrine system.
