HS-683 is a human glioma cell line widely used for modeling glial tumor biology, drug screening, and nervous system tumor therapeutic response.
Hs 683 cells were isolated from explant cultures of a glioma taken from the left temporal lobe of a 76 year old male Caucasian. Microvilli but no desmosomes were observed.
