BRCA1 Knockout Cell Line is a genetically engineered model derived from different host cell lines based on customers’ requirement. Among various options, HEK293, a human embryonic kidney cell line, is one of the most commonly selected parental cell line. BRCA1 knockout line is usually generated via CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing. The edited cells are maintained at low passage numbers (<P20). Knockout clone is validated either at gene level or protein level by PCR, Sanger Sequencing or Western Blot. Target The BRCA1 gene encodes a tumor suppressor protein that plays a central role in DNA damage repair, cell cycle checkpoint control, and genome stability. BRCA1 loss is associated with increased risk of breast, ovarian, and other cancers due to impaired homologous recombination repair and genomic instability.
