Description

Human Dermal Fibroblasts, Pooled are isolated from the dermal layer of normal adult human skin, collected from multiple healthy donors to reduce donor-specific variability. The tissue source is full-thickness skin biopsies or surgical discards, and the isolated cells are fibroblasts—spindle-shaped connective tissue cells responsible for producing extracellular matrix components such as collagen and elastin. These cells are adherent in culture and exhibit a typical elongated morphology. The pooled nature of this product offers a genetically diverse, averaged population for generalized skin research. Characterization confirms expression of fibroblast-specific markers such as vimentin and fibronectin, and absence of epithelial or endothelial markers (e.g., cytokeratins, CD31). Karyotype is stable and normal. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Dermal Fibroblasts, Pooled are ideal for use in wound healing assays, fibrosis modeling, skin biology studies, ECM research, senescence analysis, and cosmetic ingredient testing. They are also useful for tissue engineering, reprogramming into iPSCs, or serving as feeder layers in co-culture systems. Additionally, they can be employed in drug screening processes to evaluate the effects of potential therapeutic compounds on skin-related cellular functions and responses.
