Human iPSC-Derived Cardiac Fibroblasts model heart fibrosis and remodeling, enabling cardiotoxicity screening and fibrosis pathway research.
The heart is composed of different cell types, the key cells being cardiomyocytes which are responsible for the electromechanical function. This electromechanical function can be significantly affected by the crosstalk of the myocytes and non-myocytes specifically cardiac fibroblasts under a wide range of conditions as a result of genetics, physiologic, and metabolic disorders as well as adverse drug reactions. The availability of human cell models to interrogate these conditions would have a profound impact on the effort to find new medicines and cures for heart disease. Derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), AcceGen’s Cardiac Fibroblasts can be used in a wide range of applications spanning from disease research to drug discovery, to safety and toxicity testing, and to regenerative medicine.
