Apply Human MMC treated Dermal Fibroblasts for feeder layers, enabling embryonic stem cell culture, proliferation, and regenerative medicine research.
Human MMC Treated Dermal Fibroblasts are primary human dermal fibroblasts treated with mitomycin C (MMC), an agent that inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis. Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. MMC treatment results in altered gene expression, including downregulation of TGF-β1 and type I/III procollagen and modulation of bFGF mRNA levels. These changes are relevant in studies of wound healing and fibrotic diseases. MMC-treated fibroblasts are particularly useful in co-culture models or as feeder layers where proliferation inhibition is desired. In vitro, these cells exhibit limited proliferative capacity. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Human MMC Treated Dermal Fibroblasts are used in feeder layer systems for stem cell culture, as well as in studies of fibrotic signaling and wound healing. MMC treatment renders them non-proliferative, which is ideal for supporting co-culture without overgrowth. Human MMC Treated Dermal Fibroblasts also model TGF-β pathway responses and extracellular matrix remodeling.
