Description

Human Synovial Tissue Paraffin-Embedded is prepared from synovial membrane biopsies obtained from a single human donor's joint tissue, fixed promptly in formalin to preserve cellular morphology and protein integrity, then processed and embedded in paraffin wax to allow for long-term storage and versatile downstream applications. These blocks maintain the complex architecture of the synovium, including the intimal lining layer populated by fibroblast-like synoviocytes, and subintimal immune cells such as macrophages and lymphocytes, vascular endothelial cells, and extracellular matrix components like collagen and proteoglycans. The preserved morphology supports detailed histological examination, enabling visualization of tissue organization, cellular infiltration, and pathological changes characteristic of diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other inflammatory or degenerative joint disorders. The products undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human synovial tissue paraffin-embedded sections represent a fundamental resource for advancing research in joint pathology and therapeutic development. These high-quality preserved specimens enable detailed morphological assessment of synovial membrane architecture and pathological changes associated with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and other arthropathies. The paraffin-embedded format is particularly advantageous for performing robust immunohistochemical staining of inflammatory mediators, extracellular matrix proteins, and specific cellular markers, allowing comprehensive characterization of disease-specific tissue alterations. These sections facilitate sophisticated molecular analyses including in situ hybridization for gene expression profiling and spatial localization of pathogenic factors within synovial microenvironments.
