Description

HuT-78 is a human cutaneous T-cell lymphoma cell line originally established from the peripheral blood of a 53-year-old Caucasian male patient with Sezary syndrome, a leukemic variant of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma. These cells grow as non-adherent lymphoblasts and exhibit characteristics of mature T helper cells, including expression of CD4 and responsiveness to interleukin-2 (IL-2) stimulation. Genomic profiling indicates complex chromosomal rearrangements and aneuploidy, along with documented variations such as NRAS p.Gln61Lys and TP53 p.Arg196Ter. HuT-78 cells have been shown to carry deregulated c-myc expression due to genomic rearrangement. As a lymphoma-derived line, it serves as a robust model for malignant T-cell biology and related signaling studies. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • HuT-78 cell line is used as an in vitro human cutaneous T-cell lymphoma model to investigate tumor cell proliferation, T-cell signaling pathways, and lymphoid malignancy mechanisms. They are especially suited for drug sensitivity assays, studies of immune response modulation, and analyses of IL-2 mediated growth and cytokine interactions.
