LS-180 is a human epithelial colorectal adenocarcinoma cell line that was originally isolated and established from the large intestine and colon tissue of a 58-year-old white female patient with colon adenocarcinoma (Dukes type B adenocarcinoma). JHH-7 is a goblet cell that exhibits epithelial-like morphology and adherent culture properties. The stemline karyotype of LS-180 cells is 45, t(X;5) (q12;q31) are likely occurring translocation; 2.2% of cells were tetraploid. LS-180 can express a higher level of CEA than other human colorectal adenocarcinoma cell strains, making it an ideal candidate for gastrointestinal tract research.
