Anti Myelin Basic Protein T Cells ,MBP-reactive T cells derived from PBMCs after stimulation, FoxP3 negative, for autoimmunity and neuroimmunology studies.
Anti Myelin Basic Protein (MBP) T Cells, MBP-reactive T cells derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) following in vitro stimulation. Following the primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. They are capable of recognizing and attacking myelin basic protein, a key structural component of the myelin sheath that insulates nerve fibers in the central nervous system. These T cells are associated with autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), in which the immune system erroneously targets myelin, leading to neurodegeneration. In vitro, these cells exhibit limited proliferative capacity, and repeated freezing and thawing during culture should be avoided. Cells should be cultured according to AcceGen’s recommended culture conditions. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Anti Myelin Basic Protein (MBP) T Cells serve as a valuable in vitro model for studying autoimmune mechanisms in diseases such as multiple sclerosis. These T cells recognize MBP antigens and can be used to explore T cell-mediated demyelination, central nervous system inflammation, and neuroimmune interactions. They are also useful in testing immunotherapies targeting autoreactive T cells.
