Amelanotic melanoma, 2-Amino-6-purinethiol-resistant
C32TG is a human melanoma cell line originally established from a lymph node metastasis of a 55-year-old Caucasian male with malignant melanoma. The cells exhibit an epithelial-like morphology and grow in a semi-adherent monolayer under standard culture conditions. C32TG expresses melanocytic markers such as tyrosinase and MART-1, and demonstrates characteristic features of melanoma including melanin production and high migratory potential. Cytogenetic analysis reveals a hyperdiploid karyotype with structural rearrangements commonly seen in melanoma, such as aberrations in chromosomes 1p and 6q. C32TG cells are tumorigenic in vivo, forming tumors when xenografted into immunodeficient mice, making them valuable for melanoma research and drug evaluation. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

C32TG cells are suitable for investigating molecular mechanisms of melanoma progression, metastasis, and immune interactions. They are used to study oncogenic signaling pathways, including MAPK and PI3K/AKT, and to assess targeted therapies in preclinical models. Due to their melanin production and expression of melanoma-associated antigens, C32TG cells are also valuable for studies of antigen presentation and immunogenicity in melanoma.
