Mouse bone marrow hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are isolated from bone marrow, the body’s hematopoietic tissue found within various bones. HSCs possess the ability to self-renew and differentiate into precursor cells that ultimately give rise to all blood components, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. They proliferate through asymmetric mitosis, generating one progenitor cell and one stem cell. During in vitro culture, HSCs can produce large quantities of progenitor cells while maintaining a non-proliferative and undifferentiated state, sustaining their characteristics for approximately 60 days under optimal conditions. The proliferation and long-term culture of HSCs require the support of stromal feeder cells, without which they cannot proliferate or be cultured for extended periods. This product contains suspension-cultured HSCs without feeder cells, and it is recommended to use them promptly upon receipt.
