Canine Skeletal Muscle Cells (CnSkMC) are derived from the limbal skeletal muscle and are cryopreserved at second passage.
Canine Skeletal Muscle Cells (CnSkMC) are primary myoblasts isolated from clinically healthy, pathogen-free dog skeletal muscle tissue via enzymatic dissociation. CnSkMC display the typical elongated spindle morphology of myogenic progenitors and express markers such as desmin and MyoD, confirmed through immunocytochemistry. Under appropriate differentiation conditions, these cells are capable of forming multinucleated myotubes and expressing mature muscle markers such as myosin heavy chain (MyHC). Karyotype analysis confirms chromosomal stability, and donor animals are screened to be free of neuromuscular disorders. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thawcycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

CnSkMC provide a reliable in vitro model for studying skeletal muscle biology, including myogenesis, muscle regeneration, and muscle-related disorders such as canine muscular dystrophy. These cells are widely used in applications ranging from toxicology and drug efficacy testing to cell signaling, metabolic regulation, and gene expression analysis in muscular systems. Their relevance also extends to veterinary medicine and comparative muscle physiology.
