Description

Caspases are a family of proteases involved in apoptosis, encompassing over ten members. Caspase-5, with a molecular weight of 47.7 kDa and 51% homology to ICE, can induce apoptosis when overexpressed. Assay principle: Caspase-5 specifically hydrolyzes the peptide substrate WEHD-pNA (Trp-Glu-His-Asp-p-nitroanilide), releasing free nitroanilide (pNA) with a maximum absorbance at 405 nm.
