The Firefly Glo Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay Kit using a chemiluminescence analyzer features high sensitivity and a stable luminescent signal.
Firefly luciferase is a ~61 kDa enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of luciferin to oxyluciferin in the presence of ATP, magnesium ions, and oxygen, producing bioluminescence with an emission peak at approximately 560 nm. This luminescent signal can be quantitatively measured using a chemiluminescence analyzer. Compared with flash-type firefly luciferase assay kits, this kit provides a more stable signal, offering greater flexibility in experimental timing and design. The simple add–mix–measure workflow eliminates the need for autosamplers, medium removal, centrifugation, or other complex handling steps, greatly simplifying the experimental procedure. In addition, the reagent produces no noticeable irritating odor, improving laboratory usability.

Firefly Glo Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay Kit provides a highly sensitive assay for the quantitation of firefly luciferase expression in mammalian cells. The kit is compatible with commonly used cell culture media, including RPMI 1640, DMEM, MEM-α, F12, and DMEM/F12. The luminescent signal has a half-life of approximately 2 hours at 22°C, meeting the requirements of most high-throughput screening experiments. The Firefly Glo Luciferase Reporter Gene Assay Kit is a glow-type luciferase assay designed for sensitive and stable detection of firefly luciferase activity in mammalian cells. Its long-lasting luminescent signal makes it particularly suitable for high-throughput applications.
