Description

Fluor 488 is a bright green fluorescent dye that is water-soluble and highly pH-stable (pH 4-10). It can be excited at 488 nm to produce a stable fluorescence signal. It is commonly used as a cell marker and conjugated to antibodies, peptides, proteins, tracers, and other substrates for various labeling applications. Fluor 488 NHS Ester, which is Alexa Fluor 488 with an N-hydroxysuccinimide activated group, can directly react with amino groups (-NH2) on biochemical molecules, primarily primary amines, to form stable amide bonds. It can be used to label any primary amine-containing protein, peptide, amino-modified oligonucleotide, or other amino-containing biomolecule.
