HFFF2, Human Caucasian foetal foreskin fibroblast. Supports CMV and HSV growth, derived from 14-18 week foetus, finite lifespan for research use.
HFFF2 is a normal human fetal foreskin fibroblast line derived from a healthy female fetus. The cells grow as adherent spindle-shaped monolayers, displaying typical fibroblastic characteristics with elongated morphologies and strong adherence to culture surfaces. Additionally, this cell line is widely employed in wound-healing assays to investigate cell migration and tissue repair mechanisms, dermatotoxicity testing to evaluate the safety of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, and studies on extracellular matrix biology, including collagen synthesis and matrix remodeling. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

HFFF2 cell line serves as a normal human fibroblast model useful in extracellular matrix biology, wound healing, dermatotoxicity, and pulmonary research. Their finite lifespan and diploid karyotype make them excellent controls for comparing transformed or malignant cell behavior. The cells are also used in virus replication studies and tissue engineering research. Additionally, their ability to mimic in vivo fibroblast functions enhances the relevance of findings in preclinical research settings.
