Rat Melanoblast Stem Cells; Frozen Vial and Plated cells are available.
HighQC™ Rat Melanoblast Stem Cells (R-MBSCs) are neural crest-derived progenitors, isolated from the skin of healthy postnatal rats, which are committed to the melanocytic lineage. In culture, R-MBSCs exhibit spindle-shaped or polygonal morphology typical of progenitor cells and express early melanocyte lineage markers. Under different conditions, they give rise to functional melanocytes characterized by melanin production and a dendritic morphology. Rat melanoblast stem cells serve as a valuable in vitro model for studying pigmentation biology, neural crest development, and pigment-related disorders including vitiligo and melanoma. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

HighQC™ Rat Melanoblast Stem Cells are ideal for research into melanocyte development, pigment cell differentiation, and skin regeneration. They support studies in vitiligo modeling, drug screening for pigmentation modulators, and investigation of melanocyte stem cell aging. They also provide a tractable system for exploring gene-environment interactions affecting melanogenesis and oxidative stress responses. Additionally, they serve as a foundational tool for understanding neural crest–derived cell fate and pigmentary tumorigenesis.
