Description

Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells, Diabetic Type I are isolated from the dermal microvasculature of adult human donors clinically diagnosed with Type I diabetes. The source tissue is dermal skin biopsies, and the isolated cells are microvascular endothelial cells—non-hematopoietic, cobblestone-like adherent cells that form the inner lining of capillaries and small vessels. These endothelial cells retain disease-specific characteristics relevant to diabetic microangiopathy, including altered nitric oxide production and inflammatory responses. Cultured under optimized endothelial growth conditions, they express markers such as CD31, VE-cadherin, and von Willebrand factor (vWF), with low or negative expression of fibroblast or epithelial markers. Karyotype analysis confirms chromosomal stability, and the cells are provided at low passage to maintain disease-relevant phenotype. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells, Diabetic Type I provide a relevant in vitro model for studying Type I diabetes-related vascular dysfunction, endothelial inflammation, oxidative stress, angiogenesis, and wound healing impairment. They are also ideal for screening compounds targeting diabetic vasculopathies and developing tissue-engineered skin or vascular constructs in a disease context.
