Description

Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HDMECs), Diabetic Type II are isolated from the dermal microvasculature of adult human donors diagnosed with Type II diabetes mellitus. The tissue source is skin biopsies obtained from non-ulcerated, clinically characterized diabetic individuals. The isolated cells are primary microvascular endothelial cells, which form the lining of capillaries and small blood vessels and exhibit a cobblestone morphology in culture. These adherent cells display altered angiogenic capacity, increased oxidative stress response, and pro-inflammatory signaling reflective of Type II diabetic microvascular pathology. They are characterized by expression of endothelial-specific markers such as CD31, vWF, and VE-cadherin, and lack expression of hematopoietic and mesenchymal markers. Cells are cryopreserved at low passage to maintain disease-specific traits, and karyotype analysis confirms genomic stability. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells, Diabetic Type II serve as an advanced model for studying Type II diabetes-associated microvascular complications, endothelial insulin resistance, inflammation, and impaired wound healing. They are especially useful in drug discovery, angiogenesis assays, metabolic disorder studies, and the development of disease-relevant 3D tissue constructs and vascular grafts.
