Description

Primary Human-Hippocampal Neurons are isolated from human hippocampal tissue. These post-mitotic neurons exhibit polarized, complex morphology with dendritic arbors and axonal projections, and show strong expression of neuron-specific marker β tubulin III. They form synaptic networks that faithfully model human hippocampal physiology. Research demonstrates that hippocampal neurons in primary culture support formation of functional synapses and can be used to study synaptogenesis, dendritic growth, or primary cilia signaling. As post-mitotic primary cells, they do not proliferate and are unsuited for passaging. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
