Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are Human Osteoclasts mature osteoclasts or precursor cells requiring induction? Additionally, are they suitable for lentiviral transduction and extracellular vesicles/exosome isolation?

Human Osteoclasts provided are fully differentiated, mature osteoclasts and do not require further induction with RANKL or M-CSF. However, since these cells are mature and cannot be passaged, they are not suitable for long-term experiments. Lentiviral transduction and consistent secretion of extracellular vesicles/exosomes are not recommended, as we cannot guarantee sufficient yield or quality from in vitro culture.

  • How long can Human Brown Adipocytes typically be cultured, and what changes may occur over time?

Human Brown Adipocytes can generally be maintained in culture for around 10 days. With longer culture periods, the lipid droplets within the cells may gradually decrease, which can affect their functional characteristics.
