Immortalized Chicken Embryonic Fibroblasts are a stable cell line derived by transfecting primary chicken embryonic fibroblasts with the Simian Virus 40 (SV40) large T-antigen. These cells retain many physiological characteristics of primary fibroblasts while exhibiting enhanced growth and longevity. They are widely used in studies involving avian virology, genetic manipulation, and vaccine development, providing a reliable model for understanding avian cell biology and host-pathogen interactions. Each vial contain 0.5 million cells.

Immortalized Chicken Embryonic Fibroblasts (CEF) are generally not recommended as the primary cell source for cultivated meat development. Cultivated meat research typically requires seed cells with strong proliferative capacity and the ability to differentiate into myogenic lineages (myocytes/myotubes) and/or adipogenic lineages to support muscle tissue formation and meat quality characteristics.
As fibroblasts are connective tissue-derived cells, they may not meet the typical requirements for direct generation of edible muscle tissue. For cultivated meat applications, muscle progenitor cells, satellite cells, or other cell types with demonstrated myogenic differentiation potential may be more appropriate.
