IMR-32 cell line is a human neuroblastoma model widely applied in neuronal differentiation, neurotoxicity testing, tumor biology, and drug discovery.
IMR-32 is a human neuroblastoma tumor cell line originally established in 1967 from a metastatic abdominal mass of a 13-month-old Caucasian male patient with neuroblastoma. It displays a fibroblast-like morphology and grows as adherent monolayers under standard conditions, with a reported doubling time of approximately 20-48 hours depending on culture conditions. IMR-32 cells express functional neuroreceptor systems such as corticotropin-releasing factor receptors and nicotinic acetylcholine receptor subunits. IMR-32 cell line also exhibits phenotypic heterogeneity and differentiation potential. As a malignant tumor model, it supports studies into neural tumor biology, differentiation, and signal transduction. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

IMR-32 cells are used as an in vitro model of human neuroblastoma for investigating tumor cell proliferation, neuronal differentiation pathways, and receptor-mediated signaling mechanisms. They support studies on neuroreceptor function, neural lineage signals, and drug response profiling, facilitating exploration of therapeutic targets and tumor biology in pediatric neural cancers.
