Advance lymphoma research with JeKo-1 cells to investigate mantle cell lymphoma biology, leukemic conversion, and therapeutic compound evaluation.
JeKo-1 is a human mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) tumor cell line established from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of a 78‑year‑old female patient with large-cell variant mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) that underwent leukemic conversion. The cells display a lymphoblast morphology with suspension growth properties characteristic of B‑cell non‑Hodgkin lymphoma. JeKo‑1 exhibits a B‑cell immunophenotype and overexpresses Cyclin D1, Bcl‑2, c‑Myc and Rb proteins with confirmed Bcl‑1/J(H) gene rearrangement, consistent with its malignant phenotype. JeKo‑1 cells are Epstein‑Barr virus negative and show features of MCL molecular biology, making them representative of aggressive mantle cell lymphoma. This cell line is tumorigenic in immunodeficient models, while distinct metastatic behavior is not defined. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV‑1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

JeKo‑1 is used as an in vitro human mantle cell lymphoma model for studies of lymphoma biology, B‑cell signaling, and tumor proliferation pathways. It supports investigation of Cyclin D1‑driven cell cycle regulation and apoptotic mechanisms in MCL and is applied in drug screening and therapeutic evaluation targeting survival and cell cycle pathways.
