Description

LB F9 is a human B lymphocyte cell line established from a female patient with paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), a rare acquired hematopoietic disorder characterized by complement-mediated hemolysis. The cells grow in suspension culture and exhibit typical lymphocytic morphology, including small round-cell features and occasional multinucleated cells. LB F9 maintains molecular characteristics relevant to complement sensitivity, clonal B-cell expansion, and immune dysregulation, making it a valuable in vitro model for studying B-cell–mediated hemolytic mechanisms and hematologic immune disorders. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • LB F9 is suitable for research on paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, including studies of complement activation, B-cell biology, and clonal hematopoiesis, as well as investigations of cytokine signaling, apoptosis, B-cell receptor pathways, hematopoietic progenitor dynamics, and preclinical evaluation of complement-targeted or immunomodulatory therapies. It is useful for mechanistic studies of immune-mediated hemolysis and drug evaluation targeting complement pathways or immune modulation. The line can also be applied in broader hematologic and immunologic research focusing on acquired B-cell disorders.
