Description

Porcine Coronary Artery Endothelial Cells (PCAEC) are primary endothelial cells isolated from the coronary arteries of healthy, plaque-free swine. These cells originate from normal vascular tissue and are collected under sterile conditions. They exhibit classic cobblestone morphology and form tightly adherent monolayers in vitro. PCAEC are cryopreserved at early passage to preserve their proliferative potential. Functionally, they maintain vascular tone, modulate inflammatory responses, and contribute to endothelial barrier regulation. They express endothelial-specific markers such as von Willebrand factor (vWF) and CD31. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • Porcine Coronary Artery Endothelial Cells (PCAEC) are widely applied in cardiovascular and vascular biology research for investigating endothelial function, nitric oxide signaling, atherogenesis, and inflammation-related responses. Their physiological similarity to human endothelial cells makes them suitable for drug screening, toxicity testing, vascular remodeling studies, and the evaluation of blood-contacting biomaterials. Additionally, they are employed in permeability assays and co-culture systems with smooth muscle cells to simulate the coronary microenvironment in vitro.
