Description

Porcine Pulmonary Vein Endothelial Cells (PPVEC) are primary endothelial cells isolated from the pulmonary vein of healthy swine. These cells are derived from normal vascular tissue under sterile conditions and expanded in gelatin-coated flasks using endothelial-specific culture medium. PPVEC exhibit cobblestone morphology and form adherent monolayers in vitro. Functionally, they maintain vascular homeostasis, regulate endothelial permeability, and participate in inflammatory signaling. PPVEC express characteristic markers including CD31, VE-cadherin, and von Willebrand factor (vWF). Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • PPVEC are widely used in vascular and pulmonary research to explore endothelial barrier function, cell-cell adhesion, and responses to inflammatory stimuli. These cells provide an in vitro model for studying venous remodeling, thrombosis, and pulmonary vein–associated pathologies such as pulmonary veno-occlusive disease. PPVEC are also suitable for evaluating compounds targeting endothelial activation, permeability regulation, and vascular inflammation in respiratory and cardiovascular disease models.
