Rat Cardiac Microvascular Endothelial Cells (RCMECs) are primary cells isolated from the heart tissue of rats, exhibiting a flat, cobblestone-like morphology characteristic of epithelial monolayer. RCMECs play a critical role in maintaining vascular homeostasis by regulating blood pressure, vascular tone, and thrombosis prevention through paracrine signaling. They serve as mediators in pathogenesis of various cardiovascular diseases, including myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury and diabetic cardiomyopathy. RCMECs show high expression of endothelial markers such as CD31, α-SMA, von Willebrand factor (vWF), and Factor VIII.

Rat Cardiac Microvascular Endothelial Cells (RCMEC) provide a valuable in vitro model for investigating the physiology and pathology of the cardiac microvasculature. These cells are widely used in studies focused on endothelial dysfunction, vascular inflammation, and the cellular mechanisms underlying cardiomyopathies. Their relevance to myocardial injury and systemic vascular complications makes the an essential tool for advancing cardiovascular research and developing targeted therapies.
