FLT3L, also known as flt3 ligand, plays a critical role in the development of stem cells, natural killer (NK) cells, B cells, and dendritic cells (DCs).
Fms Related Tyrosine Kinase 3 Ligand (FLT3L), also known as Flt3 ligand, is a hematopoietic cytokine that promotes the hematopoietic progenitor cells activation and expansion. In vivo, it induces mobilization of both progenitors and stem cells. FLT3L is critical for dendritic cell development, especially plasmacytoid DCs and CD8⁺ classical DCs, including their CD103⁺ tissue counterparts, regulating their differentiation and function to maintain proper immune surveillance. This makes FLT3L a key factor in supporting hematopoietic and immune system homeostasis.
