THP-1/IFN β Reporter (GFP) Cell Line by AcceGen for real-time monitoring of type I interferon responses to viral infection and immune stimulation.
THP-1/IFN β Reporter (GFP) Cell Line is a genetically engineered human monocytic cell line designed to monitor interferon beta (IFN-β) signaling through green fluorescent protein (GFP) expression. Derived from THP-1 cells, the cell line maintains key native THP-1 characteristics, such as the capacity to upregulate CD14 upon differentiation and PMA-induced differentiation into macrophage-like cells, while featuring a GFP reporter system under the control of IFN-β-responsive elements. The cell line enables sensitive detection and quantification of IFN-β pathway activation through GFP fluorescence intensity, making it particularly valuable for studying viral infection responses, innate immunity, and immunomodulatory drug development. Cells exhibit stable GFP expression upon IFN-β stimulation while retaining their original biological properties, allowing for both flow cytometric analysis and live-cell imaging applications. Maintained at low passage numbers (<P20) to ensure reporter stability and consistent performance, this cell line provides a reliable tool for immunological research and antiviral compound screening. The cells are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from HIV-1, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast and Bacteria.

The THP-1/IFN-β Reporter (GFP) Cell Line is a human monocytic cell model engineered to detect interferon-beta (IFN-β) production and signaling through GFP expression under control of an IFN-β-responsive promoter. This reporter system enables real-time monitoring of innate immune responses to viral infection, nucleic acid sensing, or STING/TLR pathway activation via fluorescence microscopy or flow cytometry. The cell line retains THP-1’s differentiation capacity into macrophages while providing quantitative readouts of IFN-β pathway activity. Maintain in RPMI-1640 with 10% FBS and selection antibiotics for stable reporter performance in viral defense studies, vaccine adjuvant screening, and autoimmune disease research.
