U-2 OS is a human osteosarcoma cell line derived from a moderately differentiated tibial tumor and widely used in cancer biology and drug evaluation.
The cell line (Originally 2T) was derived in 1964 from a moderately differentiated sarcoma of the tibia of a 15 year old girl by J. Ponten and E. Saksela.
