Mouse erythroleukaemic lymphoblast. This cell line is a clone isolated from the parent line 745 TG-12.
745C2 is a murine erythroleukemic lymphoblast cell line cloned from the parent 745 TG-12 lineage, originally derived from Friend virus-induced erythroid leukemia in mice. This subclone exhibits resistance to ouabain and 2-amino-6-purinethiol and is deficient in hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyltransferase (HGPRT), making it valuable for gene selection and drug resistance studies. 745C2 cells grow in suspension and display round lymphoblast-like morphology. Cytogenetically, 745C2 maintains murine chromosomal patterns typical of erythroleukemic cells. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

745C2 cells are instrumental for studies of erythroid differentiation, drug-resistance mechanisms, and gene function in murine erythroleukemia. Researchers use them to investigate globin gene regulation, ouabain resistance pathways, and HGPRT deficiency models. Upon induction, they serve as a convenient system for screening erythropoiesis-modulating compounds and exploring lymphoblast-to-erythroid lineage conversion, particularly in molecular hematology and leukemia research.
