Description

BALB/c Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages-Thioglycollate-elicited are primary immune cells isolated from the peritoneal cavity of BALB/c mice following intraperitoneal injection of thioglycollate broth. This elicitation method induces an inflammatory response that recruits large numbers of macrophages into the peritoneal cavity, allowing efficient collection of mature, activated macrophages with elevated phagocytic activity induced by thioglycollate-driven inflammatory priming. These cells exhibit classic macrophage morphology—large, adherent, and irregularly shaped, and express macrophage-specific surface markers such as F4/80, CD11b, and CD68. They are functionally competent, capable of phagocytosis, cytokine secretion, antigen presentation, and nitric oxide production in response to stimuli such as LPS or IFN-γ. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.
