Description

BALB/c Mouse Placental Endothelial Cells are primary endothelial cells isolated from the placental vasculature of BALB/c mice. These cells form the inner lining of fetal and maternal blood vessels within the placenta, playing a crucial role in nutrient and gas exchange, placental vascular remodeling, and angiogenesis during pregnancy. In vitro, the cells display a characteristic cobblestone morphology, consistent with endothelial lineage. They express key endothelial markers, including CD31 (PECAM-1), VE-cadherin, and von Willebrand Factor (vWF), and respond to angiogenic signals such as VEGF. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • BALB/c Mouse Placental Endothelial Cells provide an essential in vitro model for studying placental vascular development, angiogenesis, and maternal-fetal interaction. They are highly relevant for research into pregnancy-related disorders such as preeclampsia, intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), and placental insufficiency. These cells are also used in toxicological screening for developmental and reproductive toxicity of drugs or environmental agents. Furthermore, they support research on immune–endothelial crosstalk at the maternal–fetal interface and are applied in screening angiogenic or anti-angiogenic therapeutics affecting placental vasculature.
