Description

BALB/c Mouse Stomach Epithelial Cells are primary epithelial cells isolated from the gastric mucosa of BALB/c mice. These cells form the lining of the stomach and are essential for maintaining the mucosal barrier, secreting digestive enzymes, and regulating gastric acid production. Morphologically, they exhibit typical epithelial cobblestone-like appearance with strong cell–cell junctions mediated by tight junction proteins such as ZO-1 and occludin. The cells express characteristic epithelial markers including cytokeratins (CK8, CK18) and E-cadherin, confirming their epithelial identity. They are isolated via enzymatic digestion and selective culture conditions favoring epithelial growth. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures and is tested to ensure it is free from contamination by Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

Application

  • BALB/c Mouse Stomach Epithelial Cells provide an excellent model for studying gastric epithelial biology, mucosal barrier function, and gastrointestinal diseases such as gastritis, gastric ulcers, and gastric cancer. They are ideal for investigating host-pathogen interactions, including infection mechanisms of Helicobacter pylori, as well as the effects of pharmaceuticals and toxins on gastric epithelial integrity. These cells can be used in 2D monolayer cultures or incorporated into 3D organoid models to better replicate in vivo physiology.
