Leverage C57BL/6 Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages (TE) to evaluate innate immunity, macrophage activity, and inflammatory signaling in mouse models.
C57BL/6 Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages are derived from the thioglycollate-elicited (TE) mouse peritoneal cavity of pathogen-free laboratory adult mice. Thioglycollate-elicited macrophages exhibit an activated phenotype and enhanced responsiveness to inflammatory stimuli. Following the isolation, these cells are cryopreserved at early passage. In vitro, they exhibit an adherent morphology and do not proliferate extensively. These macrophages are involved in immune surveillance, phagocytosis, and pro-inflammatory cytokine production. They express classical macrophage surface markers such as F4/80 and CD11b. Studies have demonstrated that thioglycollate-elicited macrophages are widely used in models of acute inflammation, infection, and macrophage polarization research. They are particularly suitable for studying macrophage activation pathways and innate immune responses. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.
