C57BL/6 Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages-Thioglycollate-elicited support macrophage biology, immune response analysis, and inflammation mechanism studies.
C57BL/6 Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages-Thioglycollate-elicited are derived from the mouse peritoneal cavity of C57BL/6 mice after intraperitoneal injection of thioglycollate medium. These macrophages display an activated, pro-inflammatory phenotype and are commonly used to study acute and chronic inflammation. Following the isolation, these cells are cryopreserved. Thioglycollate-elicited macrophages exhibit functions such as phagocytosis, chemokine release, and immune modulation, making them ideal for immunological and inflammatory research. They are frequently utilized in macrophage polarization studies and innate immune signaling analyses. Surface marker analysis typically shows expression of F4/80 and CD11b. In vitro, these cells do not proliferate and cannot be passaged, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided during culture. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.

C57BL/6 Mouse Peritoneal Macrophages–Thioglycollate-elicited are used to model acute immune responses, including monocyte-derived macrophage recruitment and activation. These cells are critical for studying mechanisms of inflammation, antigen presentation, and resolution of infection.
