Mouse primary cardiac fibroblasts are isolated from tissue of pathogen-free laboratory mice.
CD-1 Mouse Heart Fibroblasts are primary cardiac fibroblasts isolated from pathogen-free CD-1 mouse hearts using enzymatic digestion and mechanical dissociation. These adherent fibroblasts exhibit typical spindle-shaped morphology and limited expansion potential. The cells are cultured following AcceGen’s recommended conditions, retain intrinsic cardiac fibroblast functions, and serve as a model for studying heart connective tissue in CD-1 mice. These fibroblasts provide a physiologically relevant model for studies of cardiac fibrosis, tissue remodeling, and cardiovascular disease, supporting both mechanistic and preclinical research applications. To ensure the quality of these primary cells, repeated freeze-thawcycles are not recommended due to the fragile nature of these cells. Each lot undergoes rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and is rigorously tested to ensure it is free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

These mouse cardiac fibroblasts serve as a reliable model to study cardiac fibrosis, extracellular matrix production, and heart tissue remodeling, supporting heart fibroblast activity in CD-1 mice. They are suitable for drug screening targeting fibroblast proliferation and activation, molecular biology techniques such as RT-PCR and Western blotting, and immunostaining assays. Their use extends to co-culture systems and development of cardiac disease models.
