Description
The CFDA SE Cell Proliferation and Cell Tracking Kit uses CFDA, SE for cell tracking and proliferation detection. The kit’s main working principle is as follows: CFDA, SE are cell membrane permeable and inherently non-fluorescent. CFSE cannot penetrate the cell membrane and remains intact within the cell. CFSE also spontaneously and irreversibly binds to amino groups within the cell, conjugating to cellular proteins. The fluorescence of non-dividing cells labeled with CFDA, SE is very stable. Cells labeled with CFDA, SE can be used for in vitro and in vivo proliferation studies without staining neighboring cells. During cell division, CFSE-labeled fluorescence is evenly distributed between daughter cells, with intensity halving after each division. CFDA, SE are most commonly used to assay the proliferation of lymphocytes, but can also be used to assay the proliferation of other cells, such as fibroblasts, natural killer cells, and hematopoietic progenitor cells.
