Description

Clone 9 is an epithelial cell line isolated in 1968 from the normal liver of a young male Sprague-Dawley rat (Rattus norvegicus). The cells exhibit adherent growth and typical epithelial morphology. This line is non-tumorigenic in nude mice and serves as a control in carcinogenesis assays. Its stable karyotype and predictable growth make it ideal for nutritional supplement screening and functional hepatic studies. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from mycoplasma, fungi, yeast, and bacteria.
