DSL-6A/C1 is a pancreatic ductal cell line derived from the DSL-6 transplantable acinar cell carcinoma.
DSL-6A/C1 cell line is a rat pancreatic ductal cell line derived from the DSL-6 transplantable acinar cell carcinoma of a 2-year-old male Lewis rat, with DSL-6A/C1 culture conditions specified for optimal in vitro maintenance. This cell line exhibits epithelial-like morphology with glandular structures, irregular nuclei and adherent culture properties. The DSL-6A/C1 cell line expresses the ductal marker cystic fibrosis transmembrane regulator (CFTR). The cell line is tumorigenic in Lewis rats, forming solid tumors composed of ductlike structures surrounded by dense fibrous tissue. The cells undergo rigorous screening and isolation procedures, and are rigorously tested to ensure they are free of contamination from Mycoplasma, Fungi, Yeast, and Bacteria.

DSL-6A/C1 cells serve as a pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) model to study chemoresistance mechanisms and metastatic progression. They enable in vitro chemotherapy sensitivity screening and metastasis mechanism analysis through quantification of TGF-β-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). This system facilitates tumor-stroma interaction studies in 3D organoid co-cultures, accelerating therapeutic development for aggressive PDAC subtypes.
